Living a happy, healthy and peaceful life!

” Don’t take life too seriously. You’ll never get out of it alive “– Elbert Hubbard

In today’s time staying happy is not that easy –  you have to follow society’s norms, people judge you on what you say or wear, fulfil high expectations of people around and sometimes you do not perform well because of the negative criticisms of others or pressure to overperform. We are so encircled by the complication of life that we forget to live simply. Peace and happiness are just as important to your overall health as what you eat and how active you are. If you aren’t happy – your health suffers and vice versa.

I will be sharing with you all various ways to lead a healthy and happy lifestyle with a huge emphasis on self-care. So, let’s get going!

Stay away from negative people: No matter what you do or how you act, you can never please everybody because somebody will always have something bad to say.  Stay away from people who like to gossip. Just block out the negativity, because the stress that can come from these sources can really be depressing if you let them in your life long enough. Hear criticism but only if it is constructive.

Be content with what you have:  Don’t itch for things that you cannot afford now. Just be patient and work hard to achieve your goals. Never base your happiness on what could be your edge over other people. When we constantly wish that things were different, we miss out on the little joys in our life.

Do what you love and love what you do:  Do not be afraid of what other people might say, take the risk, work hard, and do what you like. There are times when people find themselves in 9-5 jobs or something they don’t like doing but they have to do it for a living. If you are in a situation like that right now, then, always have a backup plan before any action you take, carried away by your emotion won’t work.

Ability to say NO: It’s okay to say NO, even to those people who are dear to you( just don’t be rude! ). They have to understand that no matter how willing you are to help them, you get tired, too. It’s important that you take care of yourself first. Being unable to say NO can make you exhausted, stressed and irritable. Be kind and helpful to people, but not always at your own cost.

Always do the right thing: Stay away from people you know would only influence you to do the things against your principles. Avoid doing things that are against your conscience. Do not decide or do anything when you are at the peak of your emotion.  You do not have to experience everything yourself – learn from your mistakes, but it is wiser to learn from others’ mistakes and be on a right track. Peace of mind is very important for happiness.

Keep yourself engaged: An empty mind is the devil’s house –  Well said! I totally agree. Just avoid overthinking and stop complicating simple problems. Most of our stress comes from mental pressure and too much worrying. Train your mind to control its thoughts. It’s important to give yourself a break when you are under extreme pressure – plan a short vacation to some nice place, cook your favourite food, watch good movies or shows, meet your friends or go on a drive with your partner – just do something engaging of your interest.

Follow a proper routine: It’s very important to follow a healthy lifestyle and manage your time wisely. Getting enough sleep, eating healthy food, and doing regular exercise is the key to good health and happiness.

Be expressive: Do not be afraid to let others know you are hurt or offended by their words or actions. Hiding it would only lead to irritation and sadness. However, be gentle when you tell them, no matter how angry you are, be careful with your word choices and just be honest. Never say anything that can hurt the other person, especially if you do not mean it. If you have a disagreement or you quarrel with someone, try to resolve the issue within the day. Waiting for time to cool things off could lead to hardening of hearts instead. “Forgive and forget”.
