My favorite skin care products for summer.
Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog! Weather here in Seattle is quite good so far. I am already excited for summer to arrive! Well, sometimes it does get really uncomfortable during the peak summer days. Summer brings special challenges for skin as you want to be outdoors most of the time. Heat and humidity can make many of your favorite beauty products feel like a mess. Finding a perfect balance between enjoying the sun and taking care of your skin is very important. Now that I am a mom of a toddler (she keeps me on my toes 24*7, perils of having a super active kid!), its hard to take proper care of my skin all the time. I try to maintain a basic skin care routine everyday and stick to skin care products that are known to show good results and suits my skin.
I will here share my top favorite skin care products. Let’s get started!!
Skin Care Products
Cleanser: I love trying new beauty products, but I hate wasting my money on ones that don’t work. During my course of trial and error, I found this Clarisonic Mia 2, Sonic Facial Cleansing Brush System – 2 Speeds for Gentle and Everyday Cleansing system. If you have not heard about Clarisonic cleansing system, where have you been?? kidding guys!! What do I tell you, It has worked wonders on my skin – It claims to cleanse 6 times better than using your hands alone, which in turn will result in softer, smoother skin that more easily absorbs creams, serums, toners etc. I have been using it for around four months now.I would say this is the best thing I have brought for my face. I use this brush once a day with my Clinique sonic cleanser to cleanse my face.
Toner: Lancome Tonque comfort comforting rehydrting toner is the best of all. This silky-soft moisturizing toner immediately rehydrates and gently purifies skin. The instantly soothing formula made with Honey and Sweet Almond Extract gives skin a soft, fresh, clean and incredibly comfortable feeling. It actually feels like a serum and is one of my best purchase so far.
Day and Night Creams: I always clean my face with a mild cleanser before applying any cream or makeup. An year back I came across this Bliss product while browsing through in Ulta. I used various of it’s product. Bliss triple Oxygen day cream – good for dry skin and Bliss fabulous drench n quench- good for any skin type are my favorite day creams, not greasy at all. I use it when I am out for my evening walk or workout.
CeraVe skin renewing night cream has by far been the best of all I have used. It’s thick in consistency but wont feel oily or greasy at all.My skin actually looks better when I wake up and I think it looks better the longer I use it. There are so many good for your skin ingredients in this night cream (ceramides, peptides, hyaluronic acid, etc.), it’s a steal for the price. I highly recommend this for any skin type.
Sunscreen: I wear sunscreen daily regardless of the weather, also I have had terrible acne scar last year so wearing sunscreen is a must to upscale my healing process. I apply three different brands of sunscreen. The best thing with these sunscreen is, it won’t leave you any white mask looking like a clone.
LANCOME BIENFAIT UV SPF 50+SUPER FLUID FACIAL SUNSCREEN: This is by far the best sunscreen I have ever used. It’s freaking amazing! It feels so light after applying, makeup goes on well and skin won’t feel oily at all. I mostly wear it when I am outdoors for a long period of time.
CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion AM with Sunscreen, Broad Spectrum SPF 30: CeraVe products are so gentle and suited for sensitive skin – Non greasy formula moisturizes all day without causing any breakouts, giving you good sunscreen protection without unnecessary chemicals. I wear it everyday after my morning routine (when I am mostly indoors or at home).
Clinique Superdefense Daily Defense Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20: This is a light weight moisturizer with sun protection. I wear it when my skin feels really dry ( outside rainy or cloudy). This stuff soaks up my skin and moisturizes so good. Its good alternative for people who don’t like wearing sunscreen and works great for dry skin.
Makeup remover: The majority of liquid makeup removers and wipes are simply not strong enough—or effective enough—to actually clean your skin. Most of them either dries out your skin or cause breakouts.
Bliss Fabulous Makeup Melt Gel-To-Oil Cleanser : It is a refreshing, oil-free makeup remover gel that erases all traces of makeup instantly with no oily residue. Bliss products are gentle to the skin and hence I really like this makeup cleanser.
IT COSMETICS Bye Bye Makeup™ 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm : Its three-in-one cleanser, purifying makeup remover, and antiaging serum. I just love love this product. Every time I use this product, It leaves my skin feeling ultra-hydrated rather than stripped or irritated. You can also use it as a face mask and leave on for 60 seconds for better results.
Face Mask : Face masks are the instant skin therapy. I personally love applying face masks!! I also Tried few face sheets mask but didn’t like any of them that much.
Elizabeth Arden – Peel & Reveal Revitallsing Treatment: This peel of mask by Elizabeth Arden is freaking amazing!! Its like my go-to mask, easy to apply ( not thick in consistency, comes with an applicator) and the result is glowing, fresh looking skin.
Quick Fix Facials Exfoliating Scrub Mask: I apply this mask when my skin gets dull, it really helps to reduce the blackheads and minimize pores and leaves my face feeling so clean. Its easy to apply- I use it once a week or two, I leave it on for about 5 minutes and then rub it around to exfoliate. My skin feels great afterwards!
I also tried few Charcoal masks but those were not very effective on my skin.. If you guys have any recommendation for a good charcoal mask, I would love to give it a try!!
